This one day Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is accredited by Highfield Qualifications and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), providing candidates with a nationally recognised qualification from one of the leading awarding bodies.
The course enables successful candidates to become emergency first aiders in their workplace. The content of the qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for training emergency first-aiders.
Entry Requirements
To attend the Emergency First Aid at Work course, candidates must be a minimum of 14 years old and have a level of English suitable to understand the content and undertake a written assessment. They must also be able to partake in practical assessments, including being able to kneel on the floor and administer CPR for at least 2 minutes.
Venue
This Emergency First Aid at Work course will be held at the Valley Conference Centre (Valley Church), Fourfields, Bamber Bridge, Preston, PR5 6GS. There is ample parking and a cafe on-site. Please note that lunch and refreshments are not provided.
Emergency First Aid at Work Course Content
This practical and engaging course is delivered by military veterans with real world experience and covers;
- The role & responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessing an emergency situation safely
- Providing first aid to an unresponsive casualty
- Providing first aid to a casualty who is choking
- Dealing with external bleeding
- Recognising and treating shock
- Dealing with minor injuries
Candidates will be provided with quality handouts to be able to refresh the topics covered.
Assessment
This Emergency First Aid at Work course is pass or fail and is assessed by:
- Practical assessment – The practical assessment is completed throughout the course delivery. This ongoing assessment requires learners to demonstrate practical first aid skills.
- Centre-marked multiple-choice theory assessment – Learners are required to pass a 15-question multiple-choice theory paper.
