ADR Training for Drivers – Traxion Training

If you’re a driver looking to carry Dangerous Goods in significant quantities, you’ll need to obtain an ADR certificate. ADR courses are designed to help drivers gain the necessary qualifications to transport hazardous materials safely and in compliance with ADR regulations.

Our ADR Training courses are taught by experienced drivers and qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers (DGSA), ensuring you receive expert instruction and practical insights into safely transporting dangerous goods.

Remote and Classroom Training

We aim to offer both remote and classroom ADR courses to suit your needs. Our remote courses will be delivered live via Zoom, but you will need to attend an in-person exam at one of our designated exam venues. We will have exam locations in Preston, Leicester, and Cambridge. For classroom learning, we will be offering courses in Preston and Cambridge, and  also hope to provide on-site training for companies with the appropriate facilities.

ADR Course Options

We will offer two main ADR course options, depending on whether you plan to transport Dangerous Goods in packages or tanks:

  1. Core & Packages Course
    • Duration: 3 days + a half-day exam
    • This course qualifies drivers to transport Dangerous Goods that are packaged in anything other than tanks.
    • Upon successful completion, you will receive an ADR certificate that allows you to carry hazardous materials in packages.
  2. Tanks Module (Additional 1 Day)
    • Duration: 1 additional day
    • If you wish to transport Dangerous Goods in tanks, this module is required. It provides the necessary training for carrying hazardous materials in tanks, in addition to the Core & Packages qualification.

ADR Training Course Content

All of our ADR courses cover the 7 main classes of Dangerous Goods, excluding Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7), which require specialist training courses that we do not currently offer. The classes covered in our ADR training include:

  • Class 2 – Gases
  • Class 3 – Flammable Liquids
  • Class 4 – Flammable Solids, Spontaneously Combustible, Dangerous When Wet
  • Class 5 – Oxidising Agents & Organic Peroxides
  • Class 6 – Toxic & Infectious Substances
  • Class 8 – Corrosive Substances
  • Class 9 – Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods

Drivers CPC

Our ADR Training courses also count towards the Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) requirement.

  • The Core & Packages course provides 3 days (21 hours) of Driver CPC training.
  • The Tanks module provides an additional 1 day (7 hours) of Driver CPC training.
