ADR Driver Training
If you’re a driver looking to carry Dangerous Goods in significant quantities, you’ll need to obtain an ADR certificate (card). Traxion Training offer top quality, affordable ADR training courses at venues in Preston and Cambridge. We can also deliver the course at your companies premises nationwide if you have suitable facilities.
Our ADR Training courses are taught by experienced ADR drivers and qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers (DGSA’s), ensuring you receive expert instruction and obtain your ADR card in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Classroom Training with Live Practicals
Our ADR courses are delivered in a classroom environment and the practical elements are conducted properly, giving you the best chance to pass the exams and get the ticks in the box, but also ensuring that you’re confident in your abilities, as well as finding the courses more enjoyable than just staring at a screen!
Although we have embraced remote training options for certain subjects, Traxion have decided that online training is not suitable for ADR, due to much higher failure rates for the exams and drivers missing out on the vital hands on elements of the course. Many other companies now chose to simulate the practical elements of the course by simply watching videos, we aim to deliver the course properly;
First Aid Training – The emergency first aid element of all of our courses includes live training under the guidance of a certified first aid instructor and practice dummies, with the use of practice AED’s.
Fire Extinguisher Training – All candidates on our courses participate in live fire extinguisher training, ensuring that they can demonstrate extinguishing a real fire and use an extinguisher safely and effectively.

ADR Training Course Content
All courses begin with the core element. Here you will learn about some of the main provisions of ADR such as how goods needs to packaged and labelled, vehicle marking, equipment to be carried, tunnel restrictions etc. You will also cover some basic first aid and fire fighting including the practical elements mentioned above. The course then goes on to cover the various classes of dangerous goods;
All of our ADR courses cover the 7 main classes of Dangerous Goods, excluding Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7), which require specialist training courses that we do not currently offer. The classes covered in our ADR training include:
- Class 2 – Gases
- Class 3 – Flammable Liquids
- Class 4 – Flammable Solids, Spontaneously Combustible, Dangerous When Wet
- Class 5 – Oxidising Agents & Organic Peroxides
- Class 6 – Toxic & Infectious Substances
- Class 8 – Corrosive Substances
- Class 9 – Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods
Exams
ADR courses are pass or fail. Drivers must pass a series of multi-choice exam papers at the end of the course.
If you engage with the training, then it’s highly unlikely that you will fail on our course. You do need a good understanding of English and this is probably the most common reason for any failures.
If you do fail on first attempt, then we will give further guidance and a re-sit at the earliest convenience.
