Professional driving is one of the few industries where you have to pass a medical and maintain a certain level of good health in order to continue to work legally. Most of our courses focus on the roadworthiness of the vehicle and compliance with regulations. In reality though, we know that drivers themselves cause far more accidents than defective vehicles! This course focuses on the roadworthiness of you as the Driver.

This Online Health & Safety Driver CPC course aims to give an informal but detailed explanation of UK Health & Safety law. The course covers the following key pieces of H&S legislation and highlights the responsibilities for drivers and their employers under law – The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Management of Health & Safety Regulations 1999, ADR, COSHH, LOLER, Working at Height, RIDDOR.

Drivers will also receive an explanation on how the rules are enforced and conduct an interactive section explaining the Risk Assessment process and how hazards might be best controlled. Yes it’s pretty heavy legislation, but gaining an understanding can ensure that Drivers are not accepting undue liability at work. As always, delivered in a relaxed and friendly manner.

This Online Driver CPC Course is written by an experienced Driver and Transport Manager, and looks at both the Operator and Drivers responsibilities toward ensuring their vehicles are roadworthy. Drivers of larger vehicle can find themselves subject to roadside inspections by the DVSA or Police. This course aims to give Drivers a detailed explanation of how roadside checks,  prohibitions and sanctions work, and what they can do to combat problems. Candidates will be informed of their obligations to conduct walk around checks of their vehicles and we will point out key defects to look out for along with any recent updates to the rules.
Many Drivers are still unaware that the guidance on how loads should be secured has recently been updated.
